Thanks for this interview.

I appreciated the shout-out to New Yorkers. It's been my home for pretty much my entire life, and I care deeply about it. A lost wallet (old school) or phone is usually returned.

I also know well the tug between writing and everything else. It's something I grapple with.

Finally, riffing off the Little House on the Prairie, I recommend the TV show 1883. It's about pioneers and the main character is a teenage girl. It's a prequel to Yellowstone, which I did not like at all; 1883 is in a different quality league.

Wow, you're the first person I've heard say they didn't care for Yellowstone. I've not seen it but I had the sense it was beyond reproach!

I agree about the lost wallets and phones!

Lindsey, this is my chance to tell you directly that Money Diaries on R29 has been one of my most delightful pastimes over the years. What an incredible, innovative and impactful idea you had. As slightly past the target age now (35, though I was 27 when I first read MD), I’m so stoked to discover The Purse! I look forward to reading it.

Oh thank you so much! I created The Purse for those of us who felt like we aged out of MD (which is still a series I love so much!). I hope you enjoy it!!

Grammar is important, both for readers and writers. In the following sentence, agreement is incorrect. …live near Green-Wood Cemetery, and there’s these amazing green parrots that nest in the Gothic arch at the front entrance.
