I really enjoyed reading this. So many of the answers resonated with me, especially what you said about meditation practice and getting closer to what is already there. If you could have been in my meditation this morning you'd have seen the same feeling.
This interview pierced my heart, thank you Josie and Jane. Almost every response seemed to get under my skin and and beg me to pay attention. Maybe it was the mention of the spider because I too have an affinity for spiders. If they are making a web anywhere on my property I will do everything I can to protect that web. One summer I had a huge spider in the corner of my office window (on the outside thankfully or my staff never would have gone for it) and it was like having a work pet. It stayed for months.
But, it wasn't just the spider that resonated so deeply for me, it was the call to be more fully alive right where I am. Thank you!
Donna, that's so beautiful!! How lucky you and that spider were to have met one another! I love spiders, too! I once had one that lived above my showerhead!! 😹 So glad you enjoyed the interview!
Josie’s two favorite books have been mine as well, both at different times in my life. I paired them together just recently for my the newest dip in my personal story arc. I love these interviews and the simpleness of them and us! Thank you ❤️
I love the freshness and breadth of your questions -- we are each complex beings and your questions provide us the opportunity to witness the complexity of your guests. Thank you!!
What a beautiful interview. I particularly resonated with this line: "I’m more interested in what happens if I give up the idea of hope altogether and instead move a little closer to what’s already here." This reminds me so much of the idea of surrender. About 15 years ago I interviewed over 100 spiritual teachers and activists, asking the same five questions around surrender. I gave the project up but last week bought a DVD writer to transcribe the final 40 interviews I did.
This interview is fresh air and sunshine, and that's the highest praise I can give to anything.
Oh, that's lovely, Susanna! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! 🌸
Glad to have found my way here, thanks to Josie. Wonderful questions and looking forward to delving into your previous interviews!
Thank you, Elaine! Glad to have you here! And I'm so happy you enjoyed the interview!

I love that Jane! A spider about the showerhead, what did you name it?
Whilst I'm certain I did name him, I can no longer remember!!
another tender interview Jane. Josie's Substack is a favorite. her writing tendrils into my body like a spell. grounded, yet magical.
Oh, anne, that's so beautiful!! I agree! And I'm glad you enjoyed the interview!! 🌸
This is awesome. I’m going to have to reread and thoroughly digest. So many good thinking and writing prompts. Thank you!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Tricia! 🌸
