I read somewhere recently, and I can't recall where, that humans would be so much happier if they let go of the need to be loved. Rene demonstrates here how false that is.

That Ginnie Bale quote is so good. Also: “I don't love you despite all you have been through, I love you including it.” The capacity to hold the whole spectrum of emotions and experiences for another (especially your child) is so profound and beautiful.
