Ooh I love this: 'you are in co-collaboration with the world. You are always moving with something, creating something in partnership. Youβre never alone.' Thanks for the great book recommendations too π And I notice as I get older (50 this year) that colour plays a much more central role in my wardrobe (I think perhaps I didn't have the confidence to be so bold in my younger years..) β€οΈπ§‘ππ
I love that quote, as well. It's very reassuring! Same here with the color as I age. Still mostly black! But pops of pink or blue here and there. It's fun!
I love pink, too! Red is my fav color but doesn't look good on me. So pink it is. Or a lot of black. Haha. So glad you enjoyed the interview. And being known as the pink jumper girl sounds heavenly!

I'll be in Portland next week and can't wait to go to Powell's to pick up a copy of Ann Patchett's essays. And I think it is a wonderful idea to travel to Nashville just to visit a bookstore. Thank you!
So happy to read this interview! I love her newsletter and now I know more about her in a more holistic way. So glad I discovered this feature in your newsletter.
Things that have helped me through some bleak times, a cup of Barryβs tea, a phone call with a friend who makes me laugh and time in nature. Loved this interview, great questions!
Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. Those seem like perfect helpers. I wasn't familiar with Barry tea. Is that from Barry Island in Wales? My parents firmly believed a hot cuppa could cure anything!
Barryβs tea is an Irish brand of black tea. But also love Barry Island! Of course I was first introduced to it through βGavin & Staceyβ tv show, always a good source of laughter!
I don't know that show! I'm guessing you live in England. My parents are both from London but I grew up in America. I visit England often (so many many cousins here!) but clearly have holes in knowledge base!
What are some of the basic things that have helped you through a bleak time? Nature. Time outside always reorganizes my energy. Do you enjoy colorful clothing? Yes! I love color. Howβs your relationship going with yourself? Great. I'm so proud of the work I've done to get where I'm at today. I have nothing figured out as I'm navigating a huge transformation, but I trust in the unfolding. I somehow know that I'm exactly where I'm meant to be and that's keeping me going. Plus I mother two amazing girls, so I embody joy for them too.
Grace, this is all so wonderful! Trusting in the unfolding changes everything. Sometimes I'm good at that. Sometimes not so much! Glad you're in a good place during so much change!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Kirie! And I'm glad you discovered it, as well!
This was amazing! Thank you for sharing this!
Iβm so glad you enjoyed it! Emma is wonderful. πΈ
Would love to buy Emma's book but they don't ship to Australia, any ideas of how to get hold of it?
Hi Louise! Thank you. It's coming out in America next month, I'm not sure if that helps at all -- whether it can ship from there? https://bookshop.org/p/books/the-success-myth-our-obsession-with-achievement-is-a-trap-this-is-how-to-break-free-emma-gannon/20467609?ean=9781911709206
Thanks for answering that, Emma! Hopefully that works out, Louise! It's such a great book!
Unfortunately it's seems to be bookshop.org that doesn't ship to Australia. :(
Sorry I won't support Amazon.
Fair enough. Sometimes it's the last resort for authors sadly...
I understand, I just couldn't bring myself to :(

Ah, the ever growing book list! I understand! And wonderful on the jumper and glasses. Yes, definitely winning!
