I'm so thankful to have found "Beyond." I'm loving your newsletters and the vibrant thoughts you've curated for us. I'm soooo looking forward to Cheryl Strayed's interview. And, thanks, also, for your kind mention of my newsletter. I LOVE all the other newsletters you mentioned, so I feel especially proud to be included in their company. Have a wonderful, restful break!

I am being partial here but I've recently translated Cheryl Strayed's Dear Sugar into Greek and I must say it is now one of my (very) favourite books. Such compassion and non-judgemental understanding for the human condition is truly rare to find. On another note, I've been reading two Irish books and the experience has been amazing (The All of It, by Jeannette Haien, and The Spinning Heart, by Donal Ryan). Finally I HAVE to mention Writers and Lovers. I just loved the heroine and atmosphere created by Lily King.

Oh, how wonderful!! How long did it take to do that? Was it ever tricky to capture Cheryl's voice or depth of compassion? I agree, it's such a beautiful book. And thank you for those recommendations: I have a soft spot for Irish writers! And I've been meaning to read Writers and Lovers. Perhaps now is the time!

Well... with regard to the first question, it was all a matter of deadline by the publisher, so I had no choice! ☺️ As for her voice... I hope I did capture it! I must say I was so immersed in her world that I had misty eyes throughout the whole process and towards the end I was actually weeping!!

I've cried reading her writing, as well! I'm not surprised! Happy Holidays!
