[Quoted From Article] (There’s a good line in Dune: “What do you despise? By this are you truly known.”)
I am angered by so much in the world, but then I’m extremely curious about what the opposite might be. I seek out the opposite of what angers me, and I try to amplify it in my work.
This, this is pure gold. If this isn’t a mini tool kit to use as a ‘pivot’, I don’t know what is!
His curiosity definitely jumps off from the pages of his books. And I can totally see how some of it is in reaction to a lot of pop culture. Great interview!
With all his hard won success, I love how AK never loses sight of how it happens. I have often been grateful for his willingness to break this enterprise called art down into recognizable and doable steps and his generosity when it comes to sharing the work of others. His measure for evaluating his own success grounded me: to keep his family together and to raise his sons to be "publicly useful and privately happy " Thx for this interview, Jane.
(Not) Too Weird To Be Popular
“You should never waste your midlife crisis. You can do great things with a midlife crisis.” I really love this!
Fantastic interview! We can peek into his writing, career, and life and enjoy them as if we are his friends!
Thank you 💓
I feel like these questions could be used on a date. Great interview!
