My partner and soul mate passed away 14 months ago. I was sitting outside on the deck in my back yard and I told him that I missed him. A few minutes later a deer appeared and touched her nose to the fence on the side, then walked around to the back and turned and looked at me again.

That brought me much joy.

Thank you so much for mentioning my forthcoming (in five days!) book, Jane. Hotshot is a very optimistic book, calling for several paradigm shifts, and I hope it does some good in the world <3.

I always enjoy reading you here. I felt joy when I received my copy of Nothing Compares to You this week. A renewed joy in taking a walk every evening before bedtime- when the air quality is best. I’m east of you, east of Cleveland, and we’re experiencing the smoke and poor air quality from wildfires in Canada. I’m so sad over the state of our beloved planet and what’s happening here in the u.s. and elsewhere… but my faith in my fellow humans through my interactions in the world and online (mostly positive) brings me joy- and renews my faith and hope. Another joyful thing, buying perennials at a big discount and planting them. Creating art-photos brings me much joy too. Love to you.

Thank you, Jane, for your post today. I’m a big fan of supporting local businesses, and right now it brings me so much joy to have many small farms where I live growing, harvesting, and providing incredibly nutritious food for sale. Immense gratitude for all of these incredibly hard working farmers. JOY !

This week I found joy in seeing a baby’s bare feet (and wrote about it in my stack). I’ll definitely get Liz’s book ordered- thanks for the reminder, Jane. Your list of interviews is amazing. So many impressive writers!

Hi Jane, love these little joy scrolls. Joy has become a huge part of my living practice. I love to refer to Maya Angelou's words: "I've had so many rainbows in my clouds. I had a lot of clouds, but I've had so many rainbows. And the thing to do, it seems to me, is to prepare yourself so that you can be a rainbow in somebody else's cloud." I do believe that it is our most important job as parents, children, partners, friends, and humans. Prepare ourselves by loving ourselves and this life, preparing joy. That is why I created my children's book, Happy and Sad FunBook for your emotions - to spread an inner glow. My family is going thru a hard time right now. Among other things, we are losing my dad-in-law, a long death. Yesterday was my anniversary. 30 years with my husband. We didn't celebrate bc we are taking care of his dad who will die at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren. But we did celebrate. This loving one another is a living, lasting celebration. This is what I felt yesterday. This is joy.

You make my life more joyful. Thank you for all you do. Love to you. xo

Finding joy in reading Elena Ferrante's wonderful Neapolitan Quartet. I'm midway through the 3rd book. Her writing, even in English translation, is spectacular.

I just watched a bunch of cat videos, ha ha! I needed the joy of furry beings. I find joy in nature, in colour and fabric (you know me, the clothes thing), and in making things beautiful. I'm going to work on my friend's boots today. Ah, a day on the deck, doing art - heaven!

Thank you for the round-up, Jane!

What brought me joy this week was visiting my grandparents and some other family members in Shiraz, my hometown (If I could live in my hometown, I'd feel more alive). And since last week, slowly practicing my German and getting ready for B1 ÖSD exam brings me immense joy (With occasional work on my artworks).

Yeah, those connections with my grandparents are vibrant for me (I'm one of their many favourite grandkids, so you guess the rest). As for my German, I wanna continue because of deeply personal reasons (I prefer not to talk about other reasons behind this decision for now. Later, maybe yes).
