Yes, love reading the honest, authentic, open and revealing people that respond to your invitations to share themselves. We would all do well to love better and to love more. As a friend of mine, Luis Hernandez, said often after he had fixed something, "Now it is more better." I am now a fan of "more better" and try to spread it around wherever possible. And for you, my friend, I am sending a little "more better" your way for you.
This felt like a coming home. A warm soft smiling hug from a wise crone. A woman who has lived & has eyes that hold her life. Thank you. Loved this one.
Such a wonderful interview. I am so glad to be introduced to Amy's work being in a messy midlife crisis myself (can we call early 60s midlife?? That might be stretching it). I too turn to Mark Nepo's Book of Awakening every day as guidance. I loved the book and author recommendations and Amy's wonderful philosophy about life, and her perspectives about everything. I can see the Buddhist practice shining through. I wonder if she knows about the Substack newsletter here by Elena Brower, who is a practicing Zen Buddhist and often writes from that perspective, called Softening Time. Highly recommend for you, Jane, and your readers! Having a crush on George Clooney myself, I am ordering Amy's memoir now from your bookshop, Jane! Thanks for bringing us this interview.
I can't make your mistakes for you. Oh oh oh. To have had that permission sooner before taking it for myself..
I haven't said those words to my (adult) children, but I know it's true, and I try to live it. I have to let them make their own mistakes. So, so, good, the whole thing.
What a beautiful soul. Amy’s personality just lifts up off the page. Such questions, in just a few sentences, elicit such insight. I am so comforted to know there are others out there, being kind and passionate and generous and loving to all souls. We need lifting at this time! 🙏 Also, thank you for getting me onto Amy’s books.
Where she lives is where I grew up. We share a favorite bar there; I saw her the last time I was there, too long ago. The town is far enough from New York to be the country and close enough to get a city fix when needed. It's on a beautiful river and the soil is rich. I get why she's happy there. It's a place of peace.
Great questions! More depth than meets the eye.
“What’s an article of clothing that makes you feel most like you?” ❤️
Pure Amy. ♥️ What a lovely way to start the week. Thanks to you both!

Beautiful interview Jane! The power of Amy’s Dad’s words ‘I can’t make your mistakes for you’. Full of wisdom, Absolutely love it!
Love this!!!!
Absolutely love this.
“I can’t make your mistakes for you.” and kindness. How can you go wrong?
