Yes, love reading the honest, authentic, open and revealing people that respond to your invitations to share themselves. We would all do well to love better and to love more. As a friend of mine, Luis Hernandez, said often after he had fixed something, "Now it is more better." I am now a fan of "more better" and try to spread it around wherever possible. And for you, my friend, I am sending a little "more better" your way for you.

This felt like a coming home. A warm soft smiling hug from a wise crone. A woman who has lived & has eyes that hold her life. Thank you. Loved this one.

Such a wonderful interview. I am so glad to be introduced to Amy's work being in a messy midlife crisis myself (can we call early 60s midlife?? That might be stretching it). I too turn to Mark Nepo's Book of Awakening every day as guidance. I loved the book and author recommendations and Amy's wonderful philosophy about life, and her perspectives about everything. I can see the Buddhist practice shining through. I wonder if she knows about the Substack newsletter here by Elena Brower, who is a practicing Zen Buddhist and often writes from that perspective, called Softening Time. Highly recommend for you, Jane, and your readers! Having a crush on George Clooney myself, I am ordering Amy's memoir now from your bookshop, Jane! Thanks for bringing us this interview.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Amy! I didn't know about Elena's Substack, but I will check it out. Thank you! ❤️

I can't make your mistakes for you. Oh oh oh. To have had that permission sooner before taking it for myself..

I haven't said those words to my (adult) children, but I know it's true, and I try to live it. I have to let them make their own mistakes. So, so, good, the whole thing.

I know! So simple yet so potent! Gosh, I imagine that must be hard to live by as a parent. I know with my dog and cat children, I want to take everything on for them that I can. I'm guessing it's more so with human children!

Oh, so much more so. But it really is terribly unfair to burden them with that. For example, my father thought quitting corporate life to start my own business was a mistake. I'm glad I took permission to make that "mistake".

What a beautiful soul. Amy’s personality just lifts up off the page. Such questions, in just a few sentences, elicit such insight. I am so comforted to know there are others out there, being kind and passionate and generous and loving to all souls. We need lifting at this time! 🙏 Also, thank you for getting me onto Amy’s books.

Having been a fangirl of Amy's for years and years, it's fun to see her in a new light. I had always wondered how a city girl had so quickly moved to green acres. Ha!

Where she lives is where I grew up. We share a favorite bar there; I saw her the last time I was there, too long ago. The town is far enough from New York to be the country and close enough to get a city fix when needed. It's on a beautiful river and the soil is rich. I get why she's happy there. It's a place of peace.
