This was sooooooooooooooo delightful! Imola, I knew you were multi-talented but my God the languages!! I only ever read longish stuff in English, except for the Quran which I read in Arabic. Also I love love love your winter outfit where you're trying to inject colour into the grey day. Just lovely.
I know! The languages just bowl me over. How different it would be to be in the world (and in your mind!) with that depth of knowledge and connection! Glad you enjoyed the interview, Noha!
Thank you Noha! I actually studied Arabic at school, but have forgotten most of it. I can read and write with some serious effort, but out of practice. Which is why I loved listening to you read and talk about passages from the Quran. And we live in the same country, so I think you understand my need for colours during the 6 months of winter!
Oh no, you won’t get far talking to me in Arabic! I think my knowledge is all gone. What is left is the appreciation for the letters. But as I said, I love learning from you! Over chocolate-raspberry cake?
Aw, thank you Mesa! As for the languages, it's never too late to start! :) I think Jane is on to something with children's book. A little easier than the Divine Comedy :)
what a delightful interview. Imola's, way of embracing life is heartening! and this about hope: "I hope to stay curious and greedy with my hopes," feels timely with all that is unfolding in our world these days. thank you as always Jane for bringing us hope.
What a wonderful profile of someone I know and love very well. Loved reading your answers to questions Imola - always learning something new about you :)
Oh, the one and only IMOLA! Such a beauty, inside and out. Just a fascinating, loving, generous, open and wildly talented human being! And i love seeing her dance.

Truly incredible. I speak one language well, one passably, and one mediocrely and I consider that a feat! lol

Montreal and Ottawa weather are both so intense! Also I'm now tempted to talk to you in Arabic lol... but only if you're open to it.

Yes absolutely! I was watching Mo season 2 on Netflix and I was noticing how much overlap there is between Hebrew and Arabic. Really cousin languages.
YAYYYY Imola!!!! I’m so happy to see you here ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Also, I now feel like I’m missing out by not reading in different languages 😍😍😍
I knoooow! Wouldn't that be incredible!! As you know, I'm attempting children's books in Spanish!! Baby steps! Glad you enjoyed the interview, Mesa!

I love the line about love being on loan. What a profound way to look at our relationships.
I agree! So Great. Glad you enjoyed the interview, Gary!
Imola, I love the grace you have to make a peaceful divorce transition for your daughters.
I agree! And grace is the perfect word.
