"I'm easy to love." This really gave me pause. I wondered if I'm easy to love, and my first reaction, was of course I'm easy to love. And then, directly after, I thought: "well, maybe I'm no so easy to love," not arising out of low self-worth, but reflecting on how I share or don't share intimate parts of my history (mainly centered on traumatic events). I realized I don't lie, but critically edit parts of my past, because, honestly, I'm super tired of being defined by these bold-faced parts of my own story. Thank you so much for, Alex, for this thoughtful interview. 😊

I so see myself in this, Wendy! And the exhaustion of our stories! It's a lot. I'm so happy you enjoyed the interview! 🌸

I never before thought of the prodigal son in terms of home. Thank you for reorienting my thoughts on this multilayered story.

Great interview, Alex! Thanks for taking the time to let us know you a little better. I also loved reading about your dance battles.

I had the same response, sherylo! It's a different, and much more beautiful way, of being with the story! And so happy you enjoyed the interview!

I’m so happy that framing of the Prodigal Son story met you where you are! It’s so easy to look at it as this story of shame and making wrong choices, but I’ve always been moved more by the father’s response to his son coming home – and I think he would’ve felt that way wherever they were together. Thank you for sitting with this interview!

What a great interview. I love the idea of being easy to love and thinking of others as easy to love too. It sort of moves my brain to a higher shelf. I'll be thinking about this interview all day.

Thanks so much for reading, Kate! I’m so happy those words resonated with you. Reading back through the interview today, I’ve been sitting with that idea again and letting it wash over me.

"Singing in the shower or dancing in the kitchen?" Jumping off the balcony : ) And I wonder why no one will interview me

I hope that’s not the case, Richard! Check in and let us know. Without intonation it can be hard to know!

Well I can't avoid a joke Jane. That's why I'm a poor interview. Or a good one : )
